Coming soon, the RNXtract® RNA extraction kit is intended for routine clinical use for extraction and purification of total RNA from formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded (FFPE) sample material.
The IVD RNXtract® offers a reliable and robust method of gaining high quality, amplifiable template RNA from formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue for use in subsequent molecular biology techniques.
FFPE tissue is the standard material used in processing patient specimens for subsequent pathological diagnosis. Also for breast cancer FFPE tumor tissue is the starting material for routine pathological diagnostics. Regarding RNA purity and integrity, FFPE tissue as a source is known to provide certain challenges. A prerequisite for successful RNA extraction is the removal of the paraffin. Formalin fixation results in chemical modification followed by cross-linking of molecules like proteins or nucleic acids. These modifications have to be reversed to obtain amplifiable RNA. RNXtract® is an easy to perform and robust kit which meets these requirements yielding highly purified total RNA.
The RNXtract® technology provides reproducibly high yields of total RNA even from small amounts of sample material. The purified total RNA contains high quality amplifiable template RNA for use in molecular biology downstream applications like RT-qPCR.
For the reliable biomarker analysis by MammaTyper® test, a sufficient amount and high purity of amplifiable RNA is an essential part of the process. Therefore RNXtract® is especially suitable and recommended for the preparation of total RNA for the molecular analysis by MammaTyper®.
